Pursuing the Maximum Life!

Welcome to my blog! May you find here encouragement to live life to the maximum!

I’ve struggled much in my Christian walk. I’ve waded through discouragement and hopelessness, sometimes thinking I was doing it all wrong. I just couldn’t seem to get it.

Where was all that joy and peace I thought came automatically to Jesus-followers?

I searched long and hard to find the answer. Maybe you’re searching, too. You can’t admit it and risk looking like a failure. So you keep faking it.

You appear happy and together but inside is a tangled mess. Fear. Worry. Anger. Critical spirit. Bitterness. Discouragement. Negative thinking. Insecurity and low esteem, always feeling you don’t measure up.

That’s what I call the “miserable Christian life.” I spent many years there. In desperation I searched for the amazing life Jesus promised. “I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10 NKJV).

That’s the maximum life!

If you’re searching, let this promise encourage you. “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV).

At age seven I joined God’s family through a miraculous new birth when I accepted Christ as Savior, bringing His divine life to dwell in me through His Holy Spirit.

There followed many years of doubt and discouragement before I learned to rely on Christ not only as my Savior, guaranteeing I would spend eternity with Him in heaven, but also as Lord of my life and source of extravagant joy.

The key to that life: absolute surrender—giving all I am and have to Jesus and abiding in Him moment by moment, as the branch stays attached to the Vine (see how He explained this in John 15).

If you’ll come along with me, I’ll tell you everything I know about the maximum life!

Let’s begin the journey with prayer. Lord Jesus, I want to follow you with my whole heart. Teach me how to do that, for your glory. I pray in your mighty name, amen.
