What do you know about the dwelling place of God?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Wouldn\u2019t it be sweet if we could find a place to live in joy\nand calm, a residence where we could truly rest, gathering around us the ones\nwe love, and live free from worry and fear?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There is! It\u2019s the secret place of the Most High!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHe that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Can we really trust everything\ninto God\u2019s almighty hands? We answer yes<\/em>.\nBut how well do we practice it?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m so grateful when God teaches me a life-changing truth. But\nI prefer learning in pleasant circumstances\u2014not dark, challenging places where\nI can barely see his face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Skimming through old journal notes, I remembered such a\nplace where I wrestled with Romans 8:28. You can quote that verse as well as I\ncan. \u201cAnd we know that all things work together for good to them that love God,\nto them who are the called according to his purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n How many times have you spoken those words of comfort to a struggling or grieving friend? How many times have you fallen to your knees, crying out to God for assurance those words are true and dependable?<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019d listed in my journal events of four difficult months,\nconcluding with a phone call that someone I loved dearly faced a complicated surgery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lord, how much hurt\ncan one heart bear?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Feeling alone and desperate, I heard a quiet voice in my\nheart. Don\u2019t you know? All things work together\nfor good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Out of somewhere came a shoulder-shaking, burden-lifting\ntruth. \u201cAnd we know.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n We know! Most of us get caught up in the what-we-know<\/em>\u2014that all things work\ntogether for good to those who love God and are chosen for a purpose. We brush\npast \u201cand we know,\u201d which really is all we need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Knowing God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, we know\nenough to rest in confidence, trusting every care into his almighty hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Our enemy Satan colors with black crayons. He makes every circumstance look black, bleak, and hopeless. He\u2019s skillful at suggesting potential dangers.
