God has a program for carefree\nliving. I discovered it unexpectedly while writing the book A Journey of Victory<\/em> about my lifelong\nfriend, Evangelist Walter St. Clair. Since we lived many miles apart, I spent\nhours on the phone with him gathering details for the book.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Brother Walter” ended\nmost of our conversations with a verse, often quoting Psalm 55:22. “Cast\nthy burden upon the Lord, and he\nshall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One day I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen since childhood and heard about her heartbreak. Her husband had deserted her, and she had taken a second job to make ends meet. I wanted to encourage her and promised to send one of my books. Later as I signed the book with a note, “Remembering carefree days,” God spoke in my heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I still have a program for carefree living. Could it be possible to live carefree\nin this world of chaos…in our personal lives of pandemonium?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My excitement gained momentum when I read the promise in The Amplified Bible. “Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail).”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Peter 5:7 came to mind. “Casting all your care upon\nhim; for he careth for you.” The Amplified Bible put it this way:\n“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all\nyour concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you affectionately\nand cares about you watchfully.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God\u2019s program for carefree living is simple: casting every care on him. But how do I release my grip and transfer my concerns from my feeble hands into his almighty hands? This may be the hardest step in our walk with the Lord. Here\u2019s how I learned to put Psalm 55:22 into practice daily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
