Once there was a woman who owned\nher own business, but the responsibility of running it proved quite an\nundertaking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“This is too much for me,”\nshe said. “I need someone to run the business.” Finding a capable\nperson, she made him president.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I have full confidence in\nyour ability,” she said. “I’m leaving everything in your hands. You’ll\nmake all the decisions. I’m giving you total control.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As he started to work, he heard\nfootsteps behind him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I forgot to mention this\ndepartment,” she said. “It’s a mess.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I know,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“And that area looks\nimpossible. I hope you can do something about it.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It’s in the plan.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“And this section,” she\nsaid, nearly bumping into him as he stopped suddenly and looked at her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I thought you put me in\ncharge.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I did!” she said.\n“I only want to point out a few needs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Tell me again who will make\nall the decisions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“You will! I’m just offering suggestions.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“And you’re giving me total\ncontrol?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Yes! I’m only trying to\nhelp.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He didn’t say another word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And please don’t neglect that.\nThis area is in really bad shape. And can you do anything about that mess?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n I almost bumped into him as he\nstopped and gently spoke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “I thought you put everything\nin my hands. I thought I would make all the decisions. I thought I had total\ncontrol.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “What have I done! I put you\nin charge, but I’m still giving orders. You know the business much better than\nI. You don’t need me to supervise. You only need me to surrender so you can get\non with the work.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Exactly,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Go ahead.
