There is absolutely no circumstance that can come into my life today for which there will not be sufficient grace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
That truth brought assurance when I was in a barren place,\ncrying out to God. What am I going to do?\nWhat are you going to do?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n He had given direction, but his intervention had been slow\ncoming. I just couldn\u2019t see him working. Couldn\u2019t see any results from my\nefforts. Wondered if he still considered my situation a priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And then I found that note scribbled long ago. Sufficient\ngrace. Grace to perform. Grace to wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019d rather perform. But much of life takes place in the\nwaiting arena. Sometimes it\u2019s hard to maintain the momentum and expectancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Have you ever attended an event\u2014maybe a concert\u2014that was\ndelayed? After fifteen minutes\u2026half an hour\u2026an hour\u2026the audience grew\ndisgruntled. Some people clomped out demanding a refund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Waiting patiently and joyfully is not the norm. We aren\u2019t happy when our life-journey dumps us at the wait-station. It\u2019s annoying. We\u2019re busy folks pursuing an important agenda. I\nplot an escape, tossing possibilities around in my thinking. Finally I outright\nchallenge my Maker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Lord, the clock is\nticking! I need to get outta this place! I need to be doing something!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNot now,\u201d he says gently. \u201cJust wait.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n And so I wait, wondering when and how he will show up.\nBecause I know him well enough to know he will show up. First Samuel 12:16\nconvinced me. \u201cNow therefore stand and see this great thing, which the Lord\nwill do before your eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n In my wait-station I watch to see God display his mighty\npower. Believing he will keeps the momentum and expectancy high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ll use this season of inactivity to rehearse promises that\nslip by unnoticed in the hectic pace of normal life because\u2026well, in my\nwait-station, I have nothing else to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cCall unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not\u201d (Jeremiah 33:3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cNow unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above\nall that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us\u201d (Ephesians\n3:20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cBut my God shall supply all your need according to his\nrighes in glory by Christ Jesus\u201d (Philippians 4:19).<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cHast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the\neverlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the end of the earth, fainteth not,\nneither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to\nthe faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the\nyouths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall; But they\nthat wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with\nwings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not\nfaint\u201d (Isaiah 40:28-31).<\/p>\n\n\n\n A quiet voice whispered in my heart, \u201cYou are not waiting on a person or a circumstance. Wait, I say, on the Lord\u201d (Psalm 27:14).<\/p>\n\n\n\n God is also waiting\u2014waiting for me to trust him fully<\/p>\n\n\n\n Didn\u2019t I just see you pulling over to the wait-station?
