\u201cThis is the Fulfillment Department,\u201d said a stranger\u2019s voice.<\/strong> He had a package ready to send. The best telemarketing call ever!<\/p>\n

Wish I hadn\u2019t clicked to end the conversation. Sometimes my hands are faster than my brain. I rarely waste time listening to telephone sales tactics, but later I wondered what else he might have said.<\/p>\n

Could you use a little fulfillment? Wouldn\u2019t it be exhilarating to place an order and find a huge package of \u201cfulfillment\u201d at our front door!\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Fulfillment the Goal<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Fulfillment is the goal of our life dreams.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What exactly is that? How do we measure it?<\/p>\n

Thesaurus explains: achievement, accomplishment, satisfaction, contentment, success, happiness, gratification.<\/p>\n

Feeling we\u2019ve failed to find fulfillment leads to disillusionment and despair. Drudgery robs our joy and motivation, leaving us listless\u2026despondent.<\/p>\n

Yet some tasks and responsibilities are just plain unfulfilling.<\/strong> Necessary but unfulfilling. I\u2019ve spent time in such places, doing what needed to be done but finding little fulfillment or joy in it.<\/p>\n

Wading through those swampy waters, I made a decision that turned my fulfillment expectations around: see the mundane as a God-assignment.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

What happened next reminded me of David\u2019s experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust\u2026\u201d (Psalm 40:1-4a NIV).<\/p>\n

He set my feet on firm ground and put a song of praise in my heart to encourage others struggling in the pit!<\/p>\n

In Swampy Waters<\/strong><\/h3>\n

My goal in swampy waters is to follow God with my whole heart <\/strong>so that later I will look back on this temporary trudge with no regret.<\/p>\nMy #goal in swampy waters is to follow #God with my whole heart. <\/a><\/span>Click To Tweet<\/a><\/span>\n

Friend, are you in swampy waters? Maybe you’re in a full-blown flood. Wherever you are, the Lord is there.<\/p>\n

\u2026\u201cFear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior\u2026\u201d (Isaiah 43:1-3).<\/p>\n

So even in the torrent we can rest.<\/p>\n

Because Sovereign God has designed our circumstances and has a purpose in them. He\u2019s in charge of the \u201cFulfillment Department.\u201d<\/p>\n

And after you complete that God-assignment, look out your front door!<\/strong><\/p>\n
